Teen/Adolescent Therapy

Lots of life changes happen when moving from childhood to adolescence. On the outside there are physical changes and you the parent may see social changes - new school, new peer group, new style, and so on. In addition to the seen changes there are emotional and cognitive changes that may be much less noticeable. Those less obvious changes don’t go unnoticed by our skilled therapists. They are able to dive deep with your teen to provide them with the tools, skills, and self-awareness that they need to succeed and thrive in their world.

Maybe you aren’t sure  if therapy is right for your child. Sometimes the signs are obvious, while other times they are not.

More Obvious Signs:

  • Physical changes

  • Outbursts

  • Extreme highs and lows

  • Changes in school performance

Not As Obvious Signs:

  • They’ve become withdrawn

  • Experiencing a lack or loss of confidence

  • Change in their character

  • You discover they are using substances such as drugs or alcohol

At Mariposa our therapists work one on one with your teen to create a safe space and form a meaningful bond to explore the complexities of growing up. You do no have to navigate this alone, our theraists are here to help!

As their parent you may be noticing small or large shifts from who your child was to who they are becoming. You may be wanting to be sure that they have everything they need to become a strong confident adult. We hear you, and we can help!
